Kim Wilmoth, the founder of Wilmoth & Associates, P.A., began her public accounting career with a local firm. Her accounting experience spans over 25 years in both public accounting and private industry.

Kim provides guidance and works with her team in a wide variety of accounting, consulting, planning, and compliance services for corporate, individual, and tax exempt clients, including federal and multi-state income and sales tax returns. She also provides financial, retirement, trust, and estate planning and consulting for high net worth individuals.

Kim’s passion and enthusiasm for “Doing the Right Thing” led her to the opportunity to create her own firm. Her favorite tax project started in corporate tax at Bank of America, where she identified and successfully accomplished multiple sales tax refunds for significant amounts. She continues to successfully manage this initiative today!

Kim earned her B.A. and Masters of Accountancy degrees from the University of North Florida. She is a member of the AICPA, FICPA, and Institute of Professionals in Taxation. She is one of the founders and honorary members of a National Bank Tax Group: Information Reporting Roundtable. Kim is very active in her community; she serves on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities and Character Counts in Jacksonville! She is also the treasurer for the Jacksonville Humane Society.

Karen Lafleur is the firm’s hands-on multi-state sales tax manager. She works with a team that efficiently processes client data to currently create over 2,000 sales tax returns annually for numerous multi-state based corporate clients…..with room to grow. She has audit experience in many states and has enjoyed great success in reducing and eliminating audit assessments.

Karen earned her B.A. in accountancy from the University of North Florida and recently completed the Masters of Accountancy program at Stetson University. Before becoming the firm’s Sales Tax Manager, she worked with the firm for over 6 years in general accounting and tax as well as multi-state sales tax compliance. Karen is also a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation as well as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Don graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.B.A. in accounting in 1994. After graduating, Don obtained his certification in the State of Georgia, scoring in the top ten in November 1999. Don previously worked at Bank of America for two years and obtained a specialized knowledge of multi state sales tax. His other work experience includes supervising a local accounting and tax firm that serviced over 100 small business clients.

In addition, Don received certification as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and currently works with clients to set-up, train, and maintain their own internal accounting systems. Most of Don's efforts are currently directed at small business's accounting and tax needs, which include proactive tax planning, federal and state tax compliance, and tax preparation along with general business consulting.

Don is active with his church and with his wonderful, large and continually growing family!

Sandra graduated from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington with a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting in 1984. After graduation, she moved to Jacksonville where she has worked primarily in public accounting. Her primary career focus has been small business accounting and tax.

She has a solid knowledge of QuickBooks and has experience with several other software programs. She can assist you with setting up your bookkeeping records in your office or in ours and is available to answer most of your QuickBooks or general bookkeeping questions.

Sandra has voluntarily served as the treasurer for her church and the booster club at her daughter’s school.
